
Airbus seems to regain its market creditability, as it is getting more orders for its A380 super jumbo. Apart from big airlines, Airbus is getting proposal from smaller airlines too, As Airbus landed its A380 super jumbo in New Delhi, marking the first occasion of the giant jet flown to India.
Although it was, a debut trip which was designed to test the ability of Indian airports in dealing with the A380 and raise the profile of the jet’s only Indian customer so far. Another Indian private airline Kingfisher has ordered five double-decker A380s as part of a wider US$3billion Airbus deal, expects to take delivery of the first of its five A380 jets in 2011.
European plane-maker is facing a Production delay problem with the troubled A380 super jumbo, project because of Electrical wiring problems that has led to heavy profit losses and caused to lose its first position to its only American rival Boeing after five straight years.
Airbus which is owned by Franco-German defense giant EADS was receiving threats from its client airlines but Emirates airline soothe down its problem when they ordered four extra A380 super jumbos apart from the earlier 43, A380 super jumbos. The decision by the Dubai-based carrier takes its total order for the giant double-decker aircraft to 47. The additional order is worth $1.22bn at current catalogue prices. Emirates is due to take delivery of its first A380 in the third quarter of 2008.
