David Card at Jupiter Research has just spoiled the all-around ‘web2.0′-fuelled good feeling by saying that “The Internet Is Over”.



His argument:

People are using the main internet applications linke E-mail, IM and Search less. Even that mainstay of IM usage, the teens, are saying they are using IM less than before -11% of them have said that.



What should the Online Media Do?

1. Better Research on user behavior and media models.

2. Use industry best practices of targeted marketing, segmentation by close profiling.

3. Keep your ears close to the ground - read web2.0 innovations, and adapt fast.
