This was voted as the best place to work in Italy but one of the most recognized car brands in the history of automobiles, Ferrari unit in Modena has witnessed the first strike in its production line in two decades. Around eighty percent of the workers went on strike. Picketing workers were chanting the following lines:
We have a dream in our hearts - to see Cordero driving a tractor.
Here the workers were referring to the president of the company Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. The stated that the factory had turned into a mass market factory similar to the ones run by Fiat. The factory churns out more than six thousand cars each year and were upset that they had been fined for disturbing a tour of journalists and had been asked to cover up for their injuries. They also felt that despite pushing up their productivity they had not been rewarded appropriately. This has surely dented the reputation of Ferrari which was looked upon as a role model and it will be really difficult for it to clean up its reputation.
