Freesat service has got the thumbs up from BBC Trust and with it television viewers would get free to air channels through satellite dish. Being developed under a partnership between BBC and ITV UK viewers would get a very good option to BSkyB and cable channel for receiving digital broadcast.
Customers have to pay only once for the equipment and thereafter they can receive free telecast. Customer response has been quite encouraging and customers are of the opinion that it can be a value for money deal. As per BBC it is a project started in public interest and would not be affecting the broadcasting market. Customers are set to gain as it would be under the control of the public and they are free to decide how they can access TV and radio channels for which they have already paid. Looks like a good deal for the viewers.
