Google has just latched on to digital marketing firm DoubleClick for $3.1 billion and now as per a deal with Clear Channel Communications Google would be selling ads on all stations owned by the company by the end of June. As reported in New York Times the deal would give Google around five percent of the commercial time on 675 stations of Clear Channel. The terms of the deal have not been made public but it has been stated that Clear Channel would be receiving most of the ad revenue.
For a long time Google has been trying to move its ad sales beyond internet and move into traditional media such as radio, television and newspapers. This is being labeled as one of the biggest breakthroughs for Google in the world of radio. Now it looks that soon Google would be signing agreements with companies related to traditional media such as newspaper and television as it is dying to increase the scope of its revenue beyond internet.
