Google is likely to introduce a web based spreadsheet program that aims at making it easier to edit and distribute lists and numeric information on line. The Google spreadsheet, a free program, can read and create in the format, which is used in Microsoft’s Excel spreadsheet.
Apparently, theses efforts clearly indicate that the web search giant is moving towards creating its own computing world, which would threaten only one company, Microsoft the undisputed leader of desktop PC software business.
The upcoming program, whose test version will be launched today would enable the Internet users to upload two identical spreadsheet and data formats, Excel and CSV. Furthe,r once the data is stored on Google’s web servers, many number of people would be able to edit spreadsheet documents.
