HandbookThis news is more than 20 days old. But I have decided to post about it for it is too valuable a news to put away.

Free as a Blog
It is more than a T-shirt slogan. It is an idea as old as life itself. And people everywhere are working hard to presrve it. A Paris-based media watchdog released a handbook recently to help cyber-dissidents and bloggers avoid political censorship in countries as far apart as China,
Iran, Vietnam and Cuba.

The guide, published by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) with the backing of the French government, identifies bloggers as the “new heralds of free expression” and offers advice on how to set up a blog and run it anonymously.

“TOOLS OF FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION” - that’s how RSF call the book. It is a timely tool, too. For, the number of people distrusting and subduing blogs are on the rise.

RSF says that countries which were trying to control what their citizens read and do online included China, Vietnam, Iran, Iran, Cuba, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.
