You know KFC and McDonalds for their crispy fried chicken and nuggets but do you know that these American multinationals also indulge in labor right violations. These money minting companies have been offering their part time Chinese employees only four yuan per hour and when converted to American currency its just fifty cents. The wages being offered are well below the state regulations and indeed it is shocking for all of us.
KFC and McDonald’s have three thousand outlets in China and around two lac people work for these companies but don’t you think this is gross violation of the legal rights of the employees and they deserve to be paid appropriately.
China is known for its low cost manufacturing but in the process we tend to forget the poor employees who are exploited like anything and earn wages which are not even enough to offer them two square meals a day. The companies might get scot free after paying some fine but doesn’t the Chinese government need to propose stricter laws so that its people don’t have to suffer. There is no use of a cheap manufacturing tag and billions of FDI if your own people have to suffer as a result of it.
