The 16 year old alliance of Mastercard and Football World Cup has finally ended as the ruling of US judge for reconsidering the decision of FIFA of making it their official sponsored credit card for the coming two cups.
After the exit of Mastercard, Visa makes an entry into the scene and signed sponsorship with FIFA and also arguing for the sponsorship of the year 2010 and 2014. FIFA also put an end to a deal with Mastercard, which led it to the US court to clarify which contract is superior.
Football world cup is one of the major events of world. This striking of deal has severely embarrassed FIFA along with the growing credit card businesses. Judge Loretta Preska has been appealed to reconsider her decision by the coming December.
