The new chief executive of Sun Microsystems’ Jonathan Schwartz has made it loud and clear that he is not after deep job cuts in the company. He is likely to shift his focus on new revenue generating ideas. As it’s a well known fact that the company is struggling a bit financially since last few years.
However, analysts are of the view that new chief shall cut staff, abandon unprofitable products and create new ideas to get market share back in order to restructure the company. Schwartz is expected to review and focus on the growth opportunities and research projects in the near future.
However, Schwartz is not likely to change the overall product strategy and has no plans to big lay offs as it is being speculated on the Wall Street. But analysts are incessantly predicting a cut in the work force.
