Sony has announced that it is recalling eight models of its popular Cyber-shot digital cameras after finding a glitch in its LCD display screen. Sony revealed that due to a glitch in the image sensor, the screen doesn’t display the image correctly. The models recalled are DSC-F88, DSC-M1, DSC-T1, DSC-T11, DSC-T3, DSC-T33, DSC-U40 and DSC-U50.
This recall is only for the cameras sold between September 2003 and January 2005 worldwide. However, Sony refused to give any figures of affected cameras.
Sony has been plagued with this problem with its other models too. Earlier in October it announced similar problems with twenty other models and offered free repairs to customers.
Sony seems to be in a major product malfunction phase these times. Earlier this year, it recalled some ten million rechargeable laptop batteries affecting major computer manufacturers worldwide.
