For the first time in history the top 400 richest persons in the US are billionaires with Microsoft boss Bill Gates leading the pack. Following him in second place is Gates’ card partner, Wal-Mart’s Warren Buffett.
Macanese casino hotelier Sheldon Adelson made the most significant jump from the 15th to the 3rd place. According to Forbes Adelson has been earning about $1m per hour for since 2004.
The list also reveals that the Walton (that owns Wal-Mart) family is the richest with four out of the top ten coming from it.
The combined personal fortunes of the 400 persons are worth a staggering $1.25 trillion, an increase of 120 billion dollars from the previous years.
