Wal-Mart is now focusing on in store health clinics and as of now plans to open around four hundred within a time frame of two to three years. It also has an ambitious plan of opening two thousand of them within seven years. It had been testing health clinics in its stores in the US. Wal-Mart aims to offer affordable quality health care at local levels. The retailer feels that it could be the answer to the health care crisis looming large in America.
The retailer is expected to get in touch with local hospitals and other health organizations for operating walk-in clinics that would be leasing space from the retail chain and would be run as separate businesses. As of now there are seventy six clinics which are offering limited number of basic health services at a cost which is lesser as compared to doctor clinic’s and there is no need for any appointment. Looks Wal-Mart will create a mark here too.
