A few months back Microsoft chief has a long meeting with the largest advertising conglomerate WPP chief. Sure they have discussed some strategic issues closed door. That on the eve of the launch Microsoft openly sent a message to the stock market about its not meeting the demand in short term also seems like a stock market gimmick. It seems Microsoft wants to create an artificial demand of the product. It wants to show that the demand (predicated and actual) is so high that it can cope up with it.
Typical characteristic move.
I agree with Jennifer Guevin when he says media reviews have helped form an opinion (favourable) about xbox to the industry watchers. Its perceived as (remember its from Microsoft) as a complete entertainment stuff.
Amidst the rat race between MS and Sony and Nintendo it would be in interesting watch how Microsoft takes in bigger pie of maximum living rooms in US, Europe and other parts of the world.
