Nippon Universal Pharmaceutical which is a Tokyo based company has been acquired by Cadila Healthcare but the financial details have not been revealed as of now. A hundred percent stake has been acquired in this privately held company. It is an important deal for Cadila as now it will be able to enter the important generic pharma market of Japan. Also the company has established Zydus Pharma in Japan for capturing the three billion dollar generics market.
Now Cadilla will have important access to the already present manufacturing and marketing base and along with it a strong distribution channel. They will be having access to four thousand clinics and hospitals in Japan and it is expected to fill the vacuum in this complex market which is dominated by local pharma companies.
This is an important deal for Cadilla which has given them an easy entry in the Japan’s lucrative generic pharma market.
